Angel Has Fallen Review

Angel has fallen

After “Olympus has fallen” and “London has fallen”, Mike Banning (Gerard Butler) is back once again for a new movie, entitled ” Angel has fallen”. For those did not follow this movie series, there will be a movie review on the previous 2 movies on a later date, but as for this moment, all you need to know is that Mike is a secret agent that protects the U.S. President Trumbull (Morgan Freeman) and there are many enemies planning to take over the President by eliminating him.

In this latest installment of Angel has fallen, both Mike and President Trumbull faced an assassination attempt by the used of explosive drones. Other than President Trumbull, Mike was the only survivor among his team of secret agents from the assassination. FBI found pieces of evidence of his involvement in the assassination and subsequently, arrested Mike.

As he was transported to prison, a secret agency took down the police vehicles that were escorting Mike and took Mike away. However, being a skillful secret agent, Mike escaped the hands of the secret agency and went on a run. As both FBI and a secret agency were on a hunt for Mike, Mike had to figure out a way to clear his name and also saved President Trumbull as he knew that the assassination attempt will not stop until the President is eliminated. Will he be able to save the country from imminent danger or will the country fall due to Mike’s unsuccessful attempt in saving the President? Watch the movie to find out. ūüôā

Overall, I would say the storyline is predictable all the way back from the beginning as Wade Jennings (Danny Huston), Mike’s long-time friend, was invited to Mike’s house for some drinks. The evidence that the FBI found from the assassination attempt were items such as his hair and DNA, which can only be retrieved by someone close to Mike. If you pay attention to the beginning of the movie, you would roughly guess the supposed “Plot Twist” to this movie and probably the mastermind behind the assassination attempt.

Character Development

As the movie progressed, you can see more of Mike’s struggles and how he adapted to these struggles.¬†On top of that, Mike’s past has also be revealed as he turned to an unlikely ally for assistance. While the movie placed a huge emphasis on Mike, side characters such as Mike’s family and the president, also placed an important role in this movie as they provided support to Mike during his escape from the FBI and the secret agency.

Memorable scene

Even though the movie did not provide any surprise or plot twist, the actions in this movie were still remarkable and my memorable scene would be from one of these action scenes where Mike and his unlikely ally were “ambushed” by the secret agency’s men. Why did I say “embushed”? That is because their whereabouts were already exposed to them before their supposed ambush. Hence, Mike and his ally began their counterattack on them and it was spectacular as well as funny.

Overall Movie Rating: 6 / 10 (Predictable storyline and offers little to none plot twist which makes the storyline boring. However, the actions made up for the poor storyline.)

IT Chapter 2 Review

IT chapter 2

Pennywise is back once again for this latest horror movie which has just been released, titled “IT: Chapter Two”. This is a sequel from the first movie “IT” and I believed this is the final chapter/movie of this IT series.

For those who have yet to watch the first IT movie, I strongly suggest that you go watch it before watching Chapter 2 as there were a lot of flashback scenes from the first IT movie.

So now back to the movie, the Losers were back once again for the final time after 27 years, initiated by the Mike Hanlon (Isaiah Mustafa). However, one of the members did not attend the reunion which turned out to be a mission: Destroy Pennywise once and for all.

While most of them were reluctant to face Pennywise again after so many years, Mike managed to convince the rest of the team to stay with the help from Bill Denbourgh (James McAvoy). The catch was if they do not kill Pennywise, they will die horribly as predicted and foreseen by Beverly Hills ( Jessica Chastain).

In the end, did the Losers managed to get rid of Pennywise once and for all or Pennywise is proved to be too powerful for the Losers to destroy? Head down to the nearest cinema to find out the answer.

Character Development

I would say that there was an equal share of emphasis placed in each member of the Losers as it was all about them making the promise and keeping the promise. What promise was it that they kept and remembered even after 27 years? You would probably know the promise if you have watched the first movie.

From this movie, I was able to see the power of friendship that the Losers have helped them to match the power of the Pennywise. It was never easy to work together as a team due to different personalities. However, they chose to believe in one another and eventually, they were able to create an equal level playing field with Pennywise.

While they faced Pennywise as one team, a big part of the movie is placed on each individual member facing their own fear and secret which they hoped to bury deep in their heart forever. Take Beverly Marsh (Jessica Chastain) as an example, she went back to her father’s house which was occupied by an old grandmother. She found the love¬†Ben Hanscom (Jay Ryan) wrote for her, though she still believes Bill wrote it. As she was leaving the house, she recalled the bad memories of her father who treated her harshly. That was the fear and secret that Beverly had and Pennywise made use of that and scared her out of her wits.

Special Effects

As for the special effects, I was impressed by the fact that the director was able to make use of the surrounding to create the horror elements. That’s the magic of Pennywise and they have managed to capture the essence in IT Chapter 2. The special effects were superb and it really made Pennywise a terrifying and undefeatable creature.

Memorable scenes

In this horror movie, there were several jumpscare moments but those were not terrifying enough to make you scream your lungs out, more like grabbing onto your seats tighter that kind of jumpscare. You can kind of expect the jumpscare to happen, but of course, there are moments where I did not get the timing and got shocked.

My personal memorable scene would have to be the moment where Bill, Eddie (James Ransome) and Richie (Bill Halder) were trapped in the room and faced by the spider which the head was replaced by a boy’s face. Honestly, I have a fear of spiders and watching that scene where they fought against the spider really creeped me out and I can totally relate to Eddie who stood there and did nothing. Therefore, that scene would be my most memorable moments in this movie.

Overall Movie Rating : 7.5 / 10

Stuber Review (M18)

Disclaimer: This movie is rated M18 as it contains sexual contents. However, the review below does not has any sexual contents so please continue to read.

It’s time for another movie review. This week, I’m reviewing the latest action comedy movie, titled “Stuber”.

The story began 6 months ago, a police detective named Vic Manning (Dave Bautista) and his partner, Sara Morris, were chasing a notorious drug lord, Tedjo. Unfortunately, Sara was killed by Tedjo. 6 months later, Vic finally had the chance to take revenge for his partner and arrest Tedjo. Sadly, this happened just after he undergoes a laser eye surgery which affected his eyesight temporarily.

Now, enters an Uber driver, named Stu (Kumail Nanjiani). He drove Uber and worked in a sports store under his boss, who gave him the nickname “Stuber”. Stu + Uber = Stuber, get it? Anyway, he was living his average life to support his crush, Becca (Betty Gilpin) until he got an Uber request from Vic. Stu thought it’s just another customer who he hoped can give him 5 stars by the end of the ride. However, this turned out to be a long and thrilling ride for Stu as he embarked on a journey with Vic to capture Tedjo. Did they manage to solve the case or did Tedjo escaped once again? That’s for you to find out when you go watch the movie.

Character Development

In this movie, it addressed parenting and social issues which are very relatable to the real world. Stu, who was living an average life with a goal in mind, which was to impress Becca. Therefore, he took on multiple jobs to support her dream. However, with the help of Vic, he started to do things differently and move away from his average and boring life.

On the other hand, Vic was so focused on solving the crime that he neglected his own daughter for many years. After clearing things out with Stu and the unwavering support from Vic’s daughter, the father and daughter relationship improved.

In summary, you can see the chemistry between these 2 main characters as they come together to solve this crime and transform into a better version of themselves.

Memorable scenes

Among the action and comedy scenes throughout this movie, my personal favorite would be the brawl scene between Vic and Stu, which happened just before their encounter with Tedjo. It seemed to me like a therapy session for the both of them as they said the hard truth about each other, which obviously did not end up well and began to fight. Stu, which obviously has neither fighting experience nor background, still gave his everything to fight Vic despite the disadvantage. Well, technically, Vic did not have the full advantage as well, as he was still recovering from Laser eye surgery. Therefore, he can’t really see well and fell several times. Throughout the fight, they spoke their heart out and afterward, they sort of became good friends even though they fought. If men were to have a heart to heart talk, I would imagine it would end up something like that in the movie. XD

Overall Movie Rating: 6 /10¬†(Even though this action-comedy movie addressed social issues that are relatable to the real world, it left me with several questions about the movie in particular that I don’t understand. (E.g. Why is the Tedjo chasing Stu and Vic after their masterplan has been exposed?) Besides, there weren’t many plot twists which got me surprised and while there were some scenes that contain sexual content, I feel all these scenes can be removed or reduced.)

Fast and Furious : Hobbs and Shaw Review

Fast and Furious Hobbs and Shaw

Time to review one of the hottest movie release, titled “Fast and Furious: Hobbs and Shaw”. For those who followed this movie series, don’t worry, this is not Fast 9. It’s more like a side story of Fast and Furious.

As the title suggests, the main characters: Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) and¬† Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham) worked together to work on a mission in order to save the world. These two sworn enemies partnered up to bring down the only guy who might be badder than both of them. So who prevails? That’s for you to find out.

I believe the actions are the main important key in this movie. The actions have never disappointed the audience so far from the previous Fast and Furious movie series and also this movie as well.

Character Development

As for the characters, the main characters provide a lot of funny moments, especially when they bickered like some old couple. The side characters also made important contributions in this movie as they build-up to the final fight between the 2 main characters and the self-proclaimed “Bad guy”.

Special Effects

The CGI and Slow motion scenes were awesome, but I think they were not consistent in creating the environment. There was a scene in the final battle where it happened at night when the sun has set. However, halfway through the battle, the sun rises and it became morning. So, did they fought overnight or the edit team missed out on the details?

Memorable Scenes

While most of the memorable scenes come from the car chase, there was one memorable scene where Hobbs and Shaw had to travel out of the country with their fake ID. Hobbs was greeted with the customs officer and present his fake passport, where he read ” Mike Oxmall”. Try reading out this name out and you will know why this scene is one of the funniest, if not the funniest scene in this movie.

Overall Movie Rating: 8.5 / 10 (Give the side characters a bit more lines and it would be better)

The Greatest Showman Review

The Greatest Showman (2).jpg

Time to review one of the most highly rated movies in 2017 entitled, “The Greatest Showman”. This is a musical biographical movie, starring Hugh Jackman as P.T. Barnum, a renown showman, and businessman remembered for promoting celebrated hoaxes and founding the Barnum & Bailey Circus. I’m not going to discuss how closely related this movie is to P.T. Barnum biography, but I’m just going to focus on this individual movie.

The movie started off with a song “The Greatest Show”, performed by P.T. Barnum and his troupe in the middle of the Circus. After which, the movie went back to the past where P.T. Barnum grew up and met the love of his life, Charity (Michelle Williams). As they grew up and had a family, Barnum lost his job as a clerk at a shipping company as the company goes bankrupt. Being the sole breadwinner of his family, P.T. Barnum made a bold decision to set up¬†Barnum’s American Museum¬†in downtown Manhattan. It didn’t turn out well for him and thus, he began to reform the museum and invited those outcasts that had special talents to serve as performers for his museum. This attracted a large audience despite protests and poor reviews from¬†James Gordon Bennett (Paul Sparks), prompting Barnum to rename his venture “Barnum’s Circus”.

Even though the Barnum Circus was doing well after the initial downfall, P.T. Barnum was not satisfied with his current status and went to find ways to further increase his reputation and also hoping to get recognition from James Gordon Bennett. However, by doing so, he abandoned his circus and troupe to face the continuous protests themselves. In the end, what happened to P.T. Barnum and his circus troupe? Find out more by watching the movie.

Overall, the songs performed and the storyline fitted perfectly. All the emotions and thoughts were conveyed nicely through the songs and dances that I could not resist to sing along. The director did a fantastic job of ensuring there was always a nice flow throughout the movie.

Character Development

As for the characters development, there was a balance between the main character and supporting characters which made all the characters equally important in this movie. It is really difficult to identify who is more important in this movie: The troupe or P.T. Barnum? While many would argue that since this whole movie was about the P.T. Barnum being the greatest showman, it would definitely be P.T. Barnum being the key in this whole movie. However, without those troupe’s support and loyalty, Barnum circus would not even have existed or sustained for so many years. I leave this to you to make your own judgment.

Memorable scene

Well…. how do I even select one memorable scene when this movie is full of memorable scenes? From the aerial rope scene between Anne Wheeler (Zendaya) and Philip Carlyle (Zac Efron) to the final scene where P.T. Barnum performed one last performance with his troupe, everything seems so memorable and eye-catching.

If I would really have to choose one memorable scene, it would really have to be the bar scene where P.T. Barnum and the troupe reconciled after the fire accident that occurred at Barnum Circus. It was the turning point of the movie as they mustered the courage to confide to one another. I was touched by the support that the troupe gave to P.T. Barnum despite him abandoning the troupe.

Overall Movie Rating: 9 / 10 (Catchy songs that fit in well with the storyline. Many memorable scenes throughout the movie. Look forward to the sequel to this movie.)

Pitch Perfect 3 Review

For those who have been following the Pitch Perfect movie series, the final movie of the entire Pitch Perfect movie sequel is here and it ended in a BANG!! Read on the find out more.

Those who have been following this movie series closely, you should know that this vocal group, known as the Bellas, has conquered both major national and international music competitions with their amazing singing talent and teamwork. After graduation, they found themselves split apart and realized it was difficult to find jobs with their singing talent. This was when they received the opportunity to reunite one last time for an overseas USO tour. They had a riff-off with the other 3 bands, including the mean-spirited female quartet Evermoist. Apparently, the 3 bands were not the only opponents they faced. One of the Bellas, Fat Amy (Rebel Wilson) had a feud with her ruthless father who was an international crime lord, Fergus (John Lithgow) and got the rest of the Bellas members involved. The Bellas were kidnapped by Fergus to a yacht as a result of the feud, just days before the USO tour commenced. Did the Bellas manage to escape the hands of Fergus and made it for the USO tour and what is with the explosion on the yacht? Watch the movie to find out.

Character Development

In this musical comedy movie, you can see that the director placed more emphasis on the development of Beca Mitchell (Anna Kendrick) among the Bellas as she pursued her career as a music producer. There was also a fair share of emphasis placed on Fat Amy (Rebel Wilson) as the movie developed the story of her and her dad which was not mentioned until this final installment.

The chemistry between the Bellas was clearly fantastic, which has been developed since the first Pitch Perfect movie. I think behind the scenes, they didn’t have to do a lot of retakes since they were so used to working together during choreographing and singing. As much as I want to see more of their dances and singing, there is always a time where audiences feel it is time for them to move on. This movie really brought a nice ending to their journey as the Bellas. The ending can be better but it was good enough for the audience to finally recognized that this was the end of the Bellas. No more encore and no more reunion.

Memorable Scenes

The memorable scenes would have to be all the remix songs such as “Cheap Thrills” and “Freedom”. While a picture paints a thousand words, a song can express emotions and story is probably just a hundred words or so. One of the highlights in all the 3 movies would have to be the Riff-off (Song battle). As compared to the previous Pitch Perfect 1 & 2, I felt that the riff off in this movie is too short and it lacks the aggressive side from the group. A little disappointing as I would expect a strong competition between the Bellas and the 3 other opponents but it turned out to be more of a mocking to the Bellas.

Overall Rating: 6 / 10 ( While the movie maintained the spirit of the Bellas, there were not many surprises in this movie and some of the dances and tune seems repetitive from the previous Pitch Perfect movie series. Heartwarming ending but I feel if this movie is done on the year where they graduate, that would be a better ending as it provides a good closure to the Bellas as they moved onto adulthood.)

Godzilla 2 Review

For those viewers out who like monsters and mythical creatures, I have a movie that you would definitely enjoy, which is titled “Godzilla 2”.

In case you have not watched the previous movie “Godzilla” or have no idea what this mythical creature is, allow me to provide a brief introduction to Godzilla. This whole movie sequel revolves around this radioactive dinosaurian creature named “Godzilla”, which originated from Japan. It has many notable fights against monsters, one of which is the world-famous King Kong. I believed in many previous movie sequels about Godzilla, King Kong is the only monster which Godzilla hasn’t defeated till this date. However, it is still regarded as the King of Monsters.

Alright, now back to this movie. This time, it’s the most fearsome monster Godzilla against one of its arch-enemy: King Ghidorah (Golden dragon with three heads, no arms, and giant wings). This whole battle began from a wrong move made by Dr. Emma Russell (Vera Farmiga), which awoken and released King Ghidorah. Now, they had to fight to be crowned as the king of the monsters. So which monster prevailed? That’s for you to find out when you go watch the movie.

Character Development

This movie is definitely bigger and better than the previous Godzilla movie as it does not only features Godzilla and King Ghidorah, but also other iconic monsters such as Mothra at the beginning of the movie and Rodan which is King Ghidorah ally. They were important in the build-up of this epic fight. While Godzilla remained as the main character of this entire movie, there was also a fair share of emphasis on the other characters that made this whole movie interesting to watch and not just Godzilla fighting all the time.

Special effects

In terms of the CGI, it was probably one of the best so far as compared to the other previous Godzilla movies. Duh, of course. *Rolling eyes* There were so many monsters in this movie that at one point, I thought that the other monsters would not look as nice as Godzilla. Turned out I was wrong as the other monsters looked as stunning as they could have been.

Memorable Scene

My favorite scene in this movie would be the scene where Dr. Serizawa (Ken Watanabe) sacrifices himself by manually detonating a device, which revived Godzilla and increased its power. Yes, Godzilla actually died in this movie. Want to know what happens? Go and catch the movie to find out.

Anyway, this scene was probably the most touching and important in this movie. Without his sacrifice, Godzilla will not be brought back to life and King Ghidorah would have taken over the world.

Overall Movie Rating: 6 / 10 ( The initial reason as to how the fight started was super weak and can be prevented. This time around, I feel Dr. Emma Russell was the true villain as she thought she was saving the earth but unfortunately, she was wrong. Thankfully, the stunning special effects and battle fight made up for the poor storyline.)

Captain Marvel Review

For those who have watched “Avengers: Endgame”, you would have noticed that there is a female superhero that appeared but didn’t have a proper introduction. Well, her name is Captain Marvel and this is her introduction movie, titled “Captain Marvel”.

The story began with a flashback of a U.S. Air Force pilot named Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) where she was hit by a blast by what was known as the Tesseract (Space Stone). Back to the present, she began her training as a Kree warrior. She was then sent out to complete a mission: Save one of the Kree warriors and take out the Skrulls. The mission turned out to be a trap and she was captured by the Skrulls. However, the Skrulls did not want to execute her, instead, they need to retrieve important information from her memory. What is this information they needed and how she finds herself, partnering with Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) in Earth? Why is there a cat in this movie and what its’ role in this movie? All these questions will be answered when you go watch the movie.

Overall, as this movie served as the final piece of the puzzle for the Marvel “Avengers: Endgame”, it really gave this remarkable and important superhero a proper introduction into the MCU. There is also a very strong message in this movie which I believed is to encourage anyone to never give up no matter what obstacles are ahead of you.

Character Development

While the main focus of this movie is on Carol Danvers, there is also a substantial amount of emphasis placed of the supporting characters, especially Nick Fury, as he was the first person to discover her existence and become her partner. This movie also showed more of Nick Fury’s past and how he started the avengers initiative.

All these supporting characters played an important role as Carol Danvers transited from a Kree warrior to what she is now: Captain Marvel. There were a lot of dilemma and challenges she had to face, but it was all made easier with the help of Nick Fury and her best friend, Maria Rambeau (Lashana Lynch).

Special Effects

In every Marvel movie, there will always be tons of special effects. However, in this movie, the director placed more focus on talking about Carol Danvers’s past and how she gets her superpowers. Therefore, I would say you shouldn’t expect too much of special effects but rather place your focus on understanding the character of Carol Danvers.

There was a very interesting scene where Carol Danvers can change the color of her costume, with the help of Sergeant Trouble (Monica Rambeau). The color transition was smooth as they kept changing the colors. If only I would have that device and suit, I don’t think I will ever need to have another piece of clothing. XD

Memorable Scene

My personal favorite scene in this movie would have to be the funny scene where Nick Fury and the rest of the supporting characters were captured and had to undergo an assessment to see whether they posed any form of threat to the Kree warriors. The reaction from Nick Fury was so funny after he realized the cat is more dangerous than him. What’s your memorable scene in this movie? Leave a comment and let us know. ūüôā

Overall Movie Rating: 7 / 10 ( I was expecting a war between Ronan and Captain Marvel, but sadly Ronan backed out. How I wished I could see more of Captain Marvel in action in this movie, but sadly, there is already too much stuff to cramp in this 2 hours movie.)

P.S. There is 1 End-Credit Scene.

Avengers : Endgame Review

Avengers Endgame

The most anticipated movie of 2019: “Avengers: Endgame” is finally out in all cinemas. I understand this is a super-duper late review and most of you would probably have watched it already, maybe once, twice or even more. However, for those who have yet to watch a single Marvel movie till this day, you have come to the right place. I will upload another post somewhere soon which will show the timeline of all MCU movies, right from the beginning to this latest Avengers movie.

However, let’s just focus on this movie that we are all very excited about. NO Major spoilers so don’t worry.

Before I begin to tell you all the storyline, allow me to say that this movie is 3 hours long but it is definitely worth your time to watch from the start till the end. So a piece of friendly advice before you start watching this movie, do some stretching and visit the toilet if you had to. Now back to the storyline.

After “Avengers: Infinity War”, half of the world’s population and the superheroes continued with their life after Thano’s Snap. Ironman (Robert Downey, Jr.) and his only partner Nebula (Karen Gillan) were trapped in outer space with no food or water. Ironman left his final message for his wife Pepper Potts and went to sleep.

On the other side back on Earth, Captain America and the rest of the team who survived began to think of ways to bring back their allies and the unfortunate half of the world’s population who vanished. That is when the Pager that Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) left stopped working and Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) appeared, asking for Nick Fury’s whereabouts. From there, they began their adventure to redemption and revenge.

For those who did not stay till the end of the “Avengers: Infinity War” for the post-credits scene, in the final scene, Nick Fury and his partner, Maria Hill (Cobie Smulder), were the unfortunate ones that did not survive the Thanos’s Snap and vanished. However, before Nick Fury vanished, he picked up his pager and sent a distress signal to Captain Marvel. If you do not know who is Captain Marvel and where she comes about, stay tuned as there will be another post where I talked about the movie “Captain Marvel”.

Anyway, back to the story, Antman (Paul Rudd) initiated a plan that could reverse the Thano’s snap and with Captain America and Black Widow taking the lead, the surviving superheroes were assembled for one final time. However, things were not that easy, especially when the enemy is the all mighty Thanos. He heard of the plan and began his quest to stop the Avengers plot from reversing the situation.

At the end, who survived? The Avengers or Thanos once again? Find out when you go watch the movie “Avengers: EndGame”.

Overall, the whole storyline was fantastic, even though many of the viewers may have sort of know the ending. However, the build-up to the final battle was what I feel the most captivating and attractive part of the whole movie. I sincerely hope that future Marvel movies take reference to this movie for any of their future movies.

Character Development

As shown in the previous Avengers movie “Avengers: Infinity War”, those who survived the Thano’s snap were mainly from the original Avengers team from the very first Avengers movie. Therefore, the main focus would be the original six superheroes: Captain America, Iron man, Thor, Black Widow, Hulk, and Hawk-eye. Each of them had a very important role in this road to redemption. There was a huge sacrifice that each of them had to make, for example, Iron man had to *Bleep* [ Spoiler so not going to reveal ]. XD Whether the sacrifice was worth it or not, I leave it to you to decide yourself.

Some important side characters are worth mentioning, such as Ant-Man and Captain Marvel, as they helped the main characters to achieve the impossible. Without their assistance, this movie would not have been great or even began.

Great emphasize on each surviving superhero which kind of explain to the viewers on the reason for their survival in the “Avengers: Infinity War”.

Special effects

Do I really have to comment on this? The amount of details is enormous in this movie and yet, the effects still turn out to be so stunning and spectacular. No other word to describe the special effects other than “Breathtaking”.

Memorable scenes

As I was typing this whole review, I have been thinking which scene was the most memorable to me. This is because there are just too many memorable scenes. I think for me, and most of the viewers out there, the final battle scene between Thanos and Avengers is the most iconic and memorable in this movie. I held my breath as both teams prepared for this epic war.

Overall Movie Rating: 10/10 (Best movie of 2019)

Movie duration : 3 hrs 2 mins

MIB International Review

MIB International

For those who followed the MIB series, there is a new MIB movie, titled ” MIB International”. This is like MIB 4 but with new cast and focus more on the internal conflicts within MIB rather than the aliens.

The story begins with Agent H (Chris Hemsworth) and Agent High T (Liam Nelson) doing their mission, known as the Hive Invasion, up in the Eiffel Tower. This mission proved to be the most historic mission in MIB history but it did not end there.

Afterward, we were introduced to a young Agent M (Tessa Thompson) where her encounter with MIB during her younger days, ended up becoming her dream and goal in the future, where she is now.

Agent M uses her intelligence and sharp observation skills to become Agent H’s partner. Their first mission eventually leads back to the Hive invasion.

Want to know what is the Hive invasion and how Agent H and M managed to save the earth? That’s for you to find out when you go watch the movie.

In general, this Sci-Fi movie has successfully moved away from the previous MIB series, acted by Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones. While the setting and costume remain the same, the storyline and gadgets are still worth watching.

Character Development

With a brand new partnership of Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson who have previously worked in the Marvel movie, “Thor Ragnarok”, they both displayed great chemistry between them and through the characters that they played, you can see that they are inseparable. Agent H is bold and charismatic, but is sometimes careless and always a troublemaker. On the other hand, Agent M is sharp and smart, with a high level of intelligence and fighting skills. Thus, when these 2 combines,¬† they form a formidable team.

I guess the only cast that remains from the previous MIB series was Emma Thompson ( Agent O ). She played a minor role but yet an important character who recruited Agent M into the MIB. Without her, there would not even be a partner for Agent H in the first place.

Overall, there is a good balance in terms of the build-up of the characters, whether be it the main characters or the supporting cast. The only characters that I personally feel need more improvement are the aliens which are probably the main purpose of the entire MIB existence. I feel that they also need some storyline among them so that the audience can understand how scary or dangerous these aliens were.

Special Effects

In terms of the special effects, I feel the main CGI came more from the cool gadgets that the MIB agents used. There were a lot of efforts put in to create the gadgets as they appeared in places you would probably not have thought of. Take the car that the agents took as an example, almost every single part of the car had a gadget and just when you thought there were no more gadgets to display BOOM! another gadget appeared.

Memorable scenes

My personal memorable scene would be the chase scene that happened in Marrakesh (City in Morocco). This was also when both agents found themselves joined by another partner, named “Pawny” , the last survivor of a small group of aliens attacked by the Twins.

What was your favorite moment in this movie? Let us know in the comments below.

Overall Movie Rating: 7 / 10 (Storyline is predictable but the build-up to the climax was great.)

Movie duration: 1 Hr 55 Mins

Spiderman : Far From Home Review

It’s time to review one of the latest Marvel movies after “Avengers: End Game”,¬† entitled “Spiderman: Far From Home”. For those who have yet to watch the End Game, I strongly suggest that you do or you will get lost through some parts of the movie.

The story begins with the aftermath of the Endgame and Peter Parker (Tom Holland) getting ready for his summer vacation to Venice. Well, the trip went smoothly until Nick Fury shows up at his room.

He had a mission for Peter Parker but as a 16-year-old kid, he feels he is not ready to step up as the next Iron man. In the end, did he manage to complete the mission and step up? That’s for you to find out when you watched the movie.

The movie has 1 major plot twist which is deemed as the most important and unexpected plot twist in this movie.

Character Development

As the main character of this movie, there were many challenges that Peter Parker faced as he was handled an important device that proved to be the key to this movie. However, through the challenges that he faced, you can see how he began to step up as a Superhero and not just a friendly neighborhood spider-man.

The side characters, such as Aunt May and Michelle (MJ), do have a nice build-up in their respective characters, as they help Peter Parker in making some of his decisions. The love between MJ and Peter Parker has developed further in this movie. This school trip was supposed to be a trip for Peter Parker to confess his love for MJ. However, things do not usually go according to plan in movies. Therefore, did Peter Parker and MJ get together in the end? Make sure you watched until the end of the movie to find out the answer.

Special Effects

The CGI and special effects are still definitely top notch and the director allows the audience to register some stunning moments in the action fight and not just boom boom boom finished.

Memorable Scenes

Earlier when I mentioned that there is a major plot twist in this movie, that scene itself is already very shocking and also memorable. However, the most memorable scene throughout this movie would be the scene where Spiderman is trapped in a virtual world. Just when you thought all the things that Peter Parker has gone through is real, reality strikes and boom, it’s all fake. Feels like the director took reference from the movie “Inception”. For those who have not watched the movie “Inception”, there is going to be a movie review on that movie very soon. Stay tuned for more.

Overall Movie Rating: 8 / 10 (The trailer has leaked quite a lot of scenes from the movie. This makes the beginning of the movie a bit boring as audiences can kind of predict the events that happened in the beginning.)

P.S. There are 2 post-credits scenes ( 1 Mid Credit and 1 After Credit)

Movie duration: 2 Hrs 9 Mins
